New article on “How to enable positive tipping points towards global sustainability in uncertain times”

Dr. J. David Tàbara, Global Climate Forum (GCF) and Autonomous University of Barcelona, explores the idea of positive tipping points that could shift societies on to a more sustainable path, asking how they come about, and how they could be enacted for transformative change.

Based on the research conducted within the TIPPING+ project, positive tipping points are defined as those moments in which due to previous cumulative and targeted interventions, a relatively small additional action or event is able to generate structural deliberate change on a given system to another different qualitative configuration.

The article was published in the International Science Council in the context of 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference.
